Relax/Fish Deluxe & Luxury Helm

The Veranda Relax Series is designed for any generation and built for any situation, offering everyone who walks onboard the opportunity to just relax. This video segment will get you better acquainted with the helm features and benefits of the helm used on all Relax and Fish Series pontoons with a luxury package on them, including the RC (rear chaise), RFL (rear facing lounge), VLB (Versa Lounge Bench), VLC (Versa Lounge Captain’s Chair), F4, F2, and F2plus2.

As you approach the helm, located midship on the starboard side, you will notice a fiberglass console, windscreen, and large storage compartment underneath it, which is ideal for storing a cooler, inflatable, or PFDs. Pulling on the round chrome handle will open the under-console storage compartment.

The console and “Hise Rise” hydraulic helm chair sit on top of the elevated SeaDek-lined helm, which provides a cushion and does not absorb heat even on the warmest of days.

Refer to our separate video on adjusting your chair.

We are going to begin by reviewing the four toggle switches on the left side of the new luxury dash.

  • POWER turns on the boat’s main electrical system.
  • NAV/ANC turns on the white navigational bimini light and green and red navigational lights on the bow.
  • MOOD LTS turns on the LED lights located along with the bases of the furniture. Refer to the separate video on how to operate the Shadow-Caster Lighting Controller.
  • BILGE manually turns on the power to the auto-bilge pump, located inside the center toon in-floor storage compartment.
  • The red HORN button will sound the horn if pressed.

Refer to the separate video on how to operate the Kicker Audio System.

Towards the center of the dash on the left of the Simrad, the unit is the tachometer, which shows you the RPM on the outboard.

Refer to our separate video on how to use your Simrad GO5 chart plotter, located in the center of the dash.

The trim and fuel gauges are further over on the right and show the position of the outboard motor and the fuel level inside the tank.

The steering wheel extends out towards the captain’s chair and can be adjusted by lifting the level underneath the steering wheel column. All Relax Series are equipped with UFlex Hydraulic Tilt Steering, however, you may have upgraded to Power Assist Hydraulic Steering. If that is the case, please refer to the separate video for instructions on using it.

The three toggle switches on the right side of the luxury dash all affect lighting.

  • DOCK LTS turns on the LED headlights located on bow panels and should only be used when docking, not while operating.
  • CTSY LTS turns on the white LED on the top of the console.
  • RGB LTS controls the interior, under the deck, and underwater lighting from one button. Refer to the separate video on how to operate the Shadow-Caster Lighting Controller.

Lower down on that same side of the dash is a 12V and Aux USB port with a rubber cap over each. These can be used to power an electric air pump, connect to the audio system or be used as a power source to charge your devices.

Note the small, black plastic cap with a chrome ring around it further up on the dashboard beside the windshield. This is the hydraulic steering fluid reservoir, should you need to replenish its supply that is used in conjunction with the UFlex Hydraulic Tilt Steering. If you opted for the Power Assist Hydraulic Steering, your fluid reservoir and pump will be located in the aft section of your boat, underneath one of the seat cushions.

You can remove the windshield by turning all of the black nylon fasteners located along the bottom edge of the plexiglass counterclockwise and then gently pulling the edge away from the console until it is free. To install the windshield, line up the black nylon fasteners on the windshield with the slot angled to match the hole on the plastic base washer on the console, next push the fastener in fully, and then turn each nut clockwise to lock it in place.

The fuse box on all Relax and Fish Luxury Helms is located underneath the console.

Lastly, the Yamaha ignition key switch and throttle are located on the starboard side of the helm. Please refer to the separate video on how to operate each.

You now have a thorough understanding of the various components that make up the helm of Relax and Fish Series pontoons with a luxury package on them and what each does. We value your time and investment in a Veranda Luxury Pontoon. See you on the water!
