Wood & Water Do Not Get Along

Having an all-aluminum boat is a great way to say, NO WOOD and NO ROT. That’s why here at Veranda we use only the finest quality aluminum for our pontoon boat decks. And what you’ll get is a well-crafted high-quality reliable boat that can provide a lifetime of trouble-free fun.

No Wood Means No Rot

Wood Rots in Water

Everyone has seen what happens to wooden logs that spent time in the water. They become discolored and heavy as they absorb water. If they have been in the water long enough, they become rotted through.

The same thing happens to boats made from wood. It doesn’t matter even if you baby them along with lots of repairs, maintenance, and loving care. Wooden boats will eventually rot because of the time they spend in the water.

Because wooden boats spend so much time in the water, they become heavy. Heavier boats are harder to handle. Heavier boats are less safe too because they sit lower in the water and are in danger of being swamped and sinking.

Another detrimental effect of waterlogged wooden boats is mold and mildew. Mold hastens the deterioration of your wooden boat. It can also be a potential health hazard. Mold can cause significant health problems including allergic reactions and aggravate respiratory conditions. So, beware.

Aluminum Has a Longer Lifespan Than Wood

Modern boat-building has progressed to where it’s cheaper to use high-grade metal like aluminum rather than wood. Sure, wood is a natural, organic, recyclable, and sustainable building material. But wood is porous and deteriorates eventually. It doesn’t last long, no matter its treatment or impregnation. Wood is going to have a shorter lifespan than aluminum. If you want to enjoy your boat and see a return on your investment, an all-aluminum, all-welded boat is the one for you.

Predetermined Obsolescence

No matter how it is treated wood has a “predetermined obsolescence,” a ticking clock, as it were. At the time of your purchase, the wooden boat you buy will be in pristine condition. Over time, however, its plywood decks will deteriorate. It will absorbs countless gallons of water. Soon, each substrate will separate and your boat will begin to attract mold and mildew.

This is where our no-wood construction and our Patented All-Aluminum All-Welded Interlocking Deck System trump the competition. Our luxury pontoons are the best options in the market and our customers will have a “Lifetime of Enjoyment.”

WHAT THE COMPETITION DOES NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW!
Anxious, worried, and troubled competitors float a variety of myths about Veranda Luxury Pontoons. Find out the facts about Veranda’s superior pontoons.

MYTH #1

Troubled competitors want you to believe Veranda Luxury Pontoons ride rough.

FACT

Unlike competitors’ decks, which are obstructed by cross-member construction, the Patented All-Aluminum All-Welded Interlocking Deck System on every Veranda Luxury Pontoon is engineered and constructed with a smooth underside, free of obstructions. This smooth surface reduces water drag and eliminates the surging caused by cross members. Competitors try to achieve these effects by offering an optional riveted skin of aluminum on the bottom of their cross members, but adding this skin can trap moisture and accelerate wood rot.

MYTH #2

Worried competitors want you to believe Veranda Luxury Pontoons are noisy.

FACT

Nothing could be further from the truth! Our luxury pontoons do not include any wood, screws, or cross members. Veranda Luxury Pontoons patented All-Aluminum All-Welded Interlocking Deck System is engineered and constructed without screws and cross members, eliminating the very noise created by the wood, screws, and cross members used by competitors.

MYTH #3

Anxious competitors want you to believe the deck on Veranda Luxury Pontoons get hotter than theirs.

FACT

Wood decks can absorb moisture and rot. Veranda Luxury Pontoon decks are engineered and constructed with extruded all-aluminum planks that allow for the movement of air and actually work to cool our Patented All-Aluminum All-Welded Interlocking Deck System. We recently did a test comparing deck temperatures between one of our Veranda Luxury Pontoons and a competitor’s deck with similar colored vinyl flooring. The results were startling: temperatures on our deck were over 15° cooler than our competitor’s deck. Which would you rather walk across barefoot?

THE COMPETITORS DECK VERSUS VERANDA LUXURY PONTOONS DECK:

WOOD DECK SYSTEM VS. THE PATENTED ALL-ALUMINUM INTERLOCKING DECK SYSTEM

Veranda’s no-wood Lifetime of Enjoyment construction, featuring our Patented All-Aluminum All-Welded Interlocking Deck System, makes Veranda Luxury Pontoons the best choice! At the time of purchase, all of our competitors’ plywood decks are void of moisture, rot, or mold. However, over time this substrate deteriorates, absorbs countless gallons of water, and begins to rot, separate, and mold. A bigger bolt through plywood doesn’t create a stronger foundation, it just puts a bigger hole in a porous substrate. Don’t you deserve the assurance that you are purchasing the best for your investment?

  • PLYWOOD SURFACE OFFERS WEAK MOUNTING SURFACE
  • MORE BOLTS, MORE ACCESS FOR MOISTURE
  • PROTRUDING CROSS MEMBERS INCREASE DRAG
  • DECREASED STABILITY OVERTIME
  • INCREASED WEIGHT
  • INCREASED PROBABILITY OF MOLD GROWTH
  • INCREASED NOISE
  • M-BRACKETS ARE LEFT OPEN

NO WOOD, NO ROT & NO MOLD = LIFETIME OF ENJOYMENT

NOT ALL BOAT SIZES ARE EQUAL

The average Veranda Luxury Pontoon interior is over 10% larger than most all other brands. The goal of each floor plan we offer is to provide you with the perfect combination of swim platforms and plentiful seating and storage.
